On 13 August, The Log writes that the Regional Water Quality Control Board is seeking boater input on the Board’s aggressive copper TMDL reduction proposal for Newport Harbor.

This comes on the heels of the scoping meeting held 23 July at which the Board outlined its proposal to reduce copper in Newport Harbor by 83 percent within 15 years. The boating advocacy group, RBoC, alerted area boaters of the scoping meeting and the importance of being heard on these issues. RBoC points out that this initiative can have significant economic impact on owners of boats kept in the bay. If you own a boat which is not stored on a trailer or dolly, this means you!
